Radiodays Europe (RDE) is the leading annual radio conference in Europe and attracts participants from across the world. Radiodays Podcast Day is a complementary conference and as well Radiodays Asia, arranged for the first time this years. There is a potential to launch additional conferences or events.

RDE is a not-for-profit organisation with its base in Denmark. It is an association founded by the public broadcasters SR, DR, NRK and YLE and these corporations make up its board. The association is funded entirely by revenues from conference activities, arranged in cooperation with international partners and is run by a team who are connected to the organisation on a consultancy basis. RDE has no employees.

RDE has two positions as project managers, each on a 50 % basis. The project managers are not employed directly by RDE. They are employed by the founding public service broadcasters, currently DR and SR, and they are seconded to RDE. There is a well-established structure and model for running and developing the organisation’s activities.

The DR project manager will continue but the SR project manager will leave his current position, however, continue in the organisation working with the Asian conference. RDE now starts the process recruiting a project manager, taking up the position not later than the 1st of August 2019.

Employement and position in the organisation:

The positions is employed by the corporation that seconds the employee to RDE. The employee sits within the RDE structure. The conditions of employment that apply within the seconding corporation also apply to the position of project manager within RDE and salary costs are covered by RDE. The position is located at the corporation that seconds the project manager to RDE.


Responsibilities include leading and developing Radiodays Europe’s conference activities in accordance with established objectives and within the bounds of the revenues that RDE generates. The project managers have responsibility for RDE’s activities, its budget and personnel.


  • Managerial experience, and in particular experience of leading and developing projects including responsibility for running a similar organisation as well as managing its budget and personnel.
  • Experience of conference organising, events or other relevant areas.
  • Excellent knowledge of the changes taking place within the media environment, the digital revolution, new working methods and content/product development, and particularly strong knowledge and experience of the radio and audio markets in the Nordics and internationally.
  • A strong grasp of the media landscape and a network of international contacts.
  • A strong ability to communicate in English, orally and in writing, as English is RDE’s working language.
  • A strong capacity to communicate orally and in writing, both internally and externally.
